El Hadji Bassirou Touré

Software Engineering, Model-Driven Engineering, and AI applied to education.

El Hadji Bassirou Touré is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar. He teaches Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at bachelor’s and master’s level, at the FST and at the École Supérieure Polytechnique, and coordinates the third-year bachelor’s programme in Bioinformatics and Biomathematics.

He received his PhD from UCAD in 2020, with a thesis on the maintenance of large-scale systems based on megamodels. His research lies at the intersection of Model-Driven Engineering, Software Engineering and AI applied to education. He leads the IA4Nieup adaptive learning platform and drives curriculum development for DiCentre4AI.

Committed to building AI capacity in Africa, he trains faculty members within the DAP/AFRETEC programmes and takes part in cohort 6 of the African Futures Research Leadership Program (Michigan State University).
